1. What was the inspiration behind the RAMI Collection for Raya 2026. How did it influence the design language of each piece?
Inspired by the idea of abundance, the RAMI Collection for Raya 2026 is designed with thoughtful designs and a refined details. For KAMI, abundance reflects moments and togetherness, expressed through beauty, intention, and versatility for the many moments of Raya. Each piece reflects a balance between style and function, created to inspire confidence, feel effortless in wear, and remain timeless in design.
Defined by structured silhouettes, the collection features the KAMI belt as a signature statement, complemented by premium hardware and purposeful functionality to ensure ease and versatility. RAMI designs elevated fashion pieces for the Raya season and beyond, made not only to wear during the festivities, but to remember long after.
2. Can you walk us through the creative process of designing the Shoulder Bag, Kinsley, and Berkley? What makes each piece unique?
In this collection, we intentionally created two structured bags, each featuring the KAMI belt as the signature.
The first is a daily fashion bag. Its structured silhouette is timeless, versatile, and effortlessly stylish—designed to move seamlessly from day to night. It is the kind of piece you’ll reach for almost every day, across occasions, seasons, and years.
The second introduces a semi-formal silhouette. Structured and elegant, it suits events, dinners, and any moment that calls for a more polished presence, bringing a refined sense of luxury and chic sophistication.
Berkeley Bag
Defined by a sleek East–West silhouette and the KAMI belt as its signature icon, this design brings a modern, elongated proportion with a timeless appeal. The belt also functions as a securing closure with premium hardware.
The medium version includes a shoulder strap for effortless everyday wear, while the small version pairs a structured top handle with a long strap, so you can carry it as a sling or wear it on the shoulder.
Kinsley Bag
Featuring the KAMI belt as its signature icon, the strap is designed to be transformable and can be styled separately as a waist belt.
This thoughtful detail lets you carry the bag as a clutch while you wear the strap at the waist as a belt for a more formal, elevated statement. You can also wear it as a shoulder bag for a hands-free option, or carry it as a handbag for polished versatility across occasions.
Crafted in suede, the design brings a soft texture and rich depth that enhance its luxurious and elevated feel. The design is offered in two sizes, allowing for versatile styling and proportion.
The Material
In deciding the materials, we explored various patterns and finishes—testing and refining until we found what truly felt right for each design.
For Berkeley Bag, we chose a more matte finish to create a modern, understated look, enhanced with a subtle grainy texture that adds depth and character without overwhelming the silhouette.
For Kinsley Bag, after careful consideration of multiple materials, we ultimately selected suede. Its soft texture and rich appearance bring a more luxurious and elevated feel, perfectly complementing the bag’s refined, semi-formal character.
3. How do cultural elements or the spirit of Raya influence the materials, colors, and silhouettes in the RAMI Collection?
The RAMI Collection captures the spirit of Raya through intentional design choices rather than literal cultural references. The team carefully selects materials for their quality and elegance, ensuring each piece feels luxurious yet comfortable for long Raya gatherings.

Kinsley and Berkeley are names rooted in European heritage, chosen for their tone and character rather than literal meaning. Within the RAMI Collection, RAMI reinterprets these names to reflect its view of abundance during Hari Raya—a season shaped by reflection, gratitude, and renewal.
Kinsley, associated with the idea of a “king’s meadow,” represents a sense of fulfillment and generosity, while Berkeley, linked to the imagery of a “birch meadow,” evokes renewal and balance. Together, they express the spirit of Raya: returning to what is meaningful, feeling complete, and celebrating abundance through intention rather than excess.

She is thoughtful in her choices and drawn to pieces that feel timeless rather than trend-driven.
During Raya, we see her wearing these pieces from intimate family gatherings to festive visits and celebrations. The designs move effortlessly with her throughout the day, offering polish and confidence while staying comfortable and understatedly luxurious.
9. Are there any particular design challenges you faced while creating this collection, and how did you overcome them?
We addressed this by carefully refining proportions, construction, and material choices — ensuring each piece maintains a structured silhouette without feeling rigid. One of the key challenges was finding the right balance between creating designs that feel timeless while still remaining relevant in today’s fashion landscape.
Another challenge was designing a single piece that could be worn in multiple ways while remaining versatile and cohesive in form. We developed each design with precise technical consideration to ensure the shape stays neat and structured yet remains comfortable for long Raya gatherings.
Material selection also played a crucial role; choosing the right materials was essential to support the design, enhance the structure, and achieve a refined, luxurious appearance.
