BATA has spent 120 years honing its craftsmanship, and building on a tradition that has taken the company from a family workshop in the former Czechoslovakia and propelled it into a global footwear brand renowned for its quality and style.
Thomas Bata established BATA in Klin, Czechoslovakia in 1894, during a time when most shoemakers created footwear just for their friends and neighbours. He then built BATA into one of the world’s first shoe `manufacturers’, employing a team of stitchers to create footwear for distant retail merchants.
BATA has retained that dedication to quality and local markets even as it built a global brand that serves a million customers every day – transforming itself into a `glocal’ brand that responds to the unique needs and desires of local customers.
More recently, BATA has extended its tradition for innovation to establish BATA Accessories, a complete line of quality products ranging from handbags, purses, belts and more for men and women.
So if you’re looking for shoes and accessories that marry style, comfort and a tradition for quality at an amazing price, BATA is the brand for you!

Don’t miss the Ati-Atihan festival in the island town of Kalibo, Aklan in the Philippines from 10th-19th January 2014. One of the highlights of the nine day festival, in honour of the Santo Nino (infant Jesus) the festival (fiesta) is a parade, a colourful event where celebrants paint their faces with black soot. Experience tribal dances, non-stop rhythmic drumbeats and music with the many locals and tourists expected to attend the event.

Having lived in Melbourne, I was, and continue to be inspired by how well Melbournian men are dressed – be it street style or dapper eveningwear.
I am proud to say I have no fashion regrets because I only wear the things I really like.
This year, I’ll be wearing more coloured chino shorts. Shorts that add a pop of colour not only look great, but also keep you cool in the perpetual summer that is Singapore!
The trend I loved in 2013 was 'boots with suits‘. The look is the ultimate combination of style and class, and a real classic look.
I regret wearing flip flops with jeans too often and will (try to) stay away from this look this year. Yes, it’s comfortable, but it is also lazy, shabby and mismatched at times!
This year, I will try to wear more colours. I plan to replace the jeans and flip flops combo with shorts and loafers.
The look I loved in 2013 was ‘The Great Gatsby’ Look. Nothing brought a soaring economy and great style into a larger party than a flashback of the roaring twenties!
I regret wearing sweat pants and plain t-shirts and will not wear them this year. Remember, you are what you wear.
In 2014, I will try to wear a bright bow tie as often as I can.
The trend I loved in 2013 was bright casual loafers because of how they make a serious outfit stand out.
I regret wearing too many plain, dark polo shirts last year, and will try to not wear them so much this year, especially as so many cool prints are on trend this season.
As I normally stick to quite simple, classic shirts, this year, I am going to find a way to wear floral prints!
