Mini Skirt: This classic trend brings us back to the 60s
This season’s fashion trends are all bringing us back to the swinging 1960s and of course, the mini skirt wouldn’t be left out. Then again, it has never really been out of fashion. So what caused the hemlines of this feminine bottom to go up? In this context, credit doesn’t actually belong to only one person but two. Mary Quant, also known as “The Mother” of the trend, was a young upstart British designer. Her clothes reflected the ideas of the youths instead of famed fashion designers. She decided to raise the hemlines of her skirts and that epitomised the spirit of London in the mid-60s – free, energetic, youthful, revolutionary and unconventional just like British fashion today; they are trendsetters. Next we have the Andre Courreges, a French designer also known as “The Lord” of the trend. His designs different from Quant’s; his was more sophisticated and mature which made it acceptable to French haute couture.
Womens Bottoms: Find one that works best with our wide variety of styles
We know that this trend will look best on ladies with long, skinny legs but that doesn’t mean you can’t wear them if you are not blessed with such gams. It’s about understanding how to make it work for you. For the older, mature ladies; choose shades like black, chocolate brown, greys and plums. You can also pair them with tights. There are also many different types of minis. The A-line tight ones look best on younger wearers and on those with good physiques. There are also cuts that are less clingy such as wraps, pleats and kilts. They also give you more room to move and are perfect for older
wearers. Next, don’t forget to pair them with the right shoes and top. Here at Zalora Singapore, we have a wide range for you to choose from. Shop now and enjoy our various modes of payment including cash on delivery!
