What kick started this brand into existence was a look into the saturated men’s shoes industry by Native founder, Damien Van Zyll De Jong. His observations prompted him to consider the use of Ethylene vinyl acetate as a material, together with Crocs. It seemed like an interesting and cool idea for him to experiment with and next thing you know, Native was created. Launched in 2009, Native shoes are inspired by classic, casual silhouettes and made with the lightest and most comfortable material. The first three that came out of the Native design books were to the tunes of Chuck Taylor, Clark Wallabee and Vans Era and soon after it expanded by pulling influence from iconic hiking boots. Aesthetically relaxed, flexible and active, Native’s line of men’s shoes is designed for anybody, to be worn anywhere, and anytime. Our warm climate and casual culture makes it very ideal to slip into a Native in Singapore.
